OVERVIEW

Cwmdu Parc, a trade park along Carmarthen Road, Swansea, spans over 20 acres, conveniently situated 2 miles northwest of Swansea City Centre with excellent M4 access via A483. Housing a mix of local and national companies, they sought a reliable, straightforward charging infrastructure for their clientele.

SCOPE OF WORK

At Cwmdu Parc, our project involved installing 6 x 22kW EV charge points, tailored to offer a simple yet durable charging solution for clients. We selected Sevadis Maxi charge points housed in custom-made pillar housing manufactured by EV-Tower, along with barrier protection featuring custom branded inserts. The project also required a new 69KVA supply dedicated to the charging infrastructure from the National Grid.

CHALLENGES

The site necessitated a new dedicated 69KVA supply, requiring coordination with National Grid, which EV-Wales efficiently managed. The client's specifications included enabling customer charging via QR code scanning, access restriction, different charging tariffs for user groups, and revenue generation from charging sessions. Our partnership with Clenergy EV, offering tailored charge point software, successfully met all these client requirements.

IMPACT

The project has delivered reliable and straightforward charging options for customers, contributing to increased footfall for businesses within the estate. Building upon this success, future plans are underway for the next phase, aiming to introduce DC charging to complement the existing AC charging points already installed, further enhancing the site's charging infrastructure and services.
