Landlords must own/manage flats, houses, apartment blocks, or business premises within the UK (excluding Channel Islands and Isle of Man).
Grants apply only to existing properties, not under-construction buildings.
Specific criteria differ for residential and commercial landlords:
Residential Landlords: Can apply if they own/manage properties for residential purposes, including multi-unit residential buildings and communal spaces. They cannot apply if they solely offer holiday rentals, live in the property, or lack necessary company/VAT registration numbers.
Commercial Landlords: Can apply if they own/manage properties rented/leased to businesses. They cannot use the grant for new builds with over 10 parking spaces or due to other mandatory requirements. The installed charge points should be exclusively for the building's staff and vehicles.
Parking Space Requirements
The parking space should be off-street, private, clearly defined, accessible to tenants, and owned by the landlord (proof might be required).
Necessary permissions are required if installations cross private or public lands.
